Filipinos are both hardworking and slackers. If there is no need for extraneous effort, Filipinos will work for very long hours if necessary, but they will also sit on the couch for very long hours while drinking liquor if there is no need for extraneous effort. The environment has a significant impact on this attitude.

This attitude is exemplified by one example. Other nationality, assumed Filipinos were lazy because they observed them sitting in their huts from noon until 3 p.m. They believe that Filipinos should be working and not wasting their time. What other countries failed to notice is that Filipinos awoke early (around 3 a.m.) and, even though it is still dark, they are already farming and tilling the ground, while the Spaniards are still fast asleep. Filipinos did this to avoid the scorching heat of the sun, which can literally damage your skin and drain your reserves of energy during the noon hour. So, by beginning work before dawn, most of the time, the tasks assigned to the farmers are completed by 10 a.m., and they will simply rest in their huts during the scorching heat of the sun. They would return to their fields by 3 p.m. to finish the remaining work that needed to be done until 7 p.m.

Most Filipinos who work abroad are the most hardworking because the majority of their earnings go to their families as a form of support. These international workers are extremely adaptable, dealing with difficult situations on their own with .Despite the homesickness that every Overseas Filipino Worker feels, still, they prefer to work in other country primarily because of higher pay abroad compared in the Philippines. On the other hand, the unfortunate reality is that most families who receive monthly assistance from their overseas relatives are completely reliant on the said person and do not work hard because there is no forced necessity. This attitude must undoubtedly be of the times. no one to turn to. They are courageous, hardworking, and patient, and I admire them for their contributions to the country’s growth.

Answering the question if the Filipino’s are lazy or not is difficult because there are no white or black, only in-betweens.
